My career at Freyssinet began in 2003 in Hong Kong, with the construction of the Deep Bay South bridge and Sha Tin Heights tunnel.
As a recently graduated engineer, it was a highly formative experience as it combined theoretical and practical aspects in an extremely enriching international context.
I then joined the Technical Department at head office in Vélizy. It gave me a chance to learn about the diversity of Freyssinet's business areas and the technical expertise involved, and thus consolidate the theoretical grounding vital for their implementation.
I then took advantage of the company's dynamic outlook to spend three years working in Dubai on the aerial metro, one of the largest engineering structures in the Middle East at 62 km in length. Having played an active role in preparing the work for section T1-T3 through the airport, I was made responsible for it. I therefore took charge of the various aspects of the construction of the structure, including the relationship with the Client, production team management, technical coordination, safety and quality, as well as the administrative and financial side of things with the support of the structure in place.
I am now working as an operational and commercial Business Manager in the Major Projects Department, specifically in the Asia, Middle East and Australia region. My activities are split between managing projects underway and monitoring potential projects in the sales phase.
Daily contact with clients and colleagues from diverse cultures, the scale of the projects we're involved in and the challenges linked to the techniques we use are key components of this fascinating job.
