Freyssinet was contracted by SOGEA SATOM Niger to provide the prestressing system, technical support and equipment rental for the construction of the Diori Hamani interchange overpass.
The 126-metre long structure is made up of two wide beam and slab bridges cast on falsework. Each slab bridge consists of five spans and contains 16 prestressing. This structure, which is built over the Katako Market area, will separate traffic passing through and traffic heading for the market.
The work is part of a wider government project to build three civil engineering structures with the aim of improving urban mobility in Niamey in 2018.
The project includes two other structures: a twin beam composite bridge on the Gountou-Yéna canal and a portal frame bridge near the Katako market.
